Corryong Paragliding (PG) Open

Corryong Victoria

Welcome to the Corryong Open 2025, one of Australia's premier Alpine flying events, set at the stunning Mt Elliot.

Located just a short thermal glide from Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest peak, Corryong has a rich history in Australian paragliding, with the first Nationals held nearby in Thredbo in 1990. As of 2024, Corryong is proudly accredited by the PWCA.

The Corryong Open is an elite AAA/CAT2 competition, offering 450 ladder points and attracting experienced inland pilots. With its breathtaking views of the Main Range and often snow-capped peaks in early Spring and late Autumn, the area offers a magical cross-country flying experience.

This event is a key part of the Australian season, allowing pilots to gain crucial ladder and team points, and it's a qualifying round for the prestigious PWC. For those seeking a more accessible entry into competition flying, the Corryong Sports Class Championships offers a lighter, more relaxed experience.

For spectators, seeing multicoloured groups of pilots soaring through the sky, gliding gracefully above the stunning landscape, is truly a magical sight.

Pilots are required to arrange their own retrieve drivers, but a list of local drivers will be made available. Join us at the Corryong Open 2025 for an unforgettable flying adventure in one of the most scenic locations in Australia!
